What Causes High Fever In A Child?
My 12 year old granddaughter...healthy... suddenly ran a temperature around 3 hours ago no other symptoms. Temperature has been rising every 30 minutes to 103. 2 ...last testing. Daughter is taking her to urgent care. What are possibilities for causing this. We checked for tick bites ..negative ... also, she has one mosquito bite from 2 days ago. We live in Stamford, Ct. I have had property sprayed for ticks (2 sprayings i think)

hi sir,there are many causes for high fever.if associted with chills,it might be malaria,urinary tract infection etc.upper respiratory infections,lung infections can also present as fever but with respiratory symptoms like cough.more over blood and urine investigations will lead us in treating the kid.hope she gets well soon.bye.
