Hi,I am Dr. Prabhakar Koregol (Cardiologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am a 20 year old female and weigh in at 145. I have had problems with a high heart rate in the past and after multiple tests by my pediatrician she told me that I have an irregular heart beat but that it was normal for me. Recently I have had chest pain and feeling of anxiousness along with a resting heart rate of 120 on average. I've also had problems with my hands falling asleep until I pop my elbow or wrist which I can do at almost any time. I was diagnosed with Familial Hypermobility Disease in January but I don't see how an increased heart rate could be a symptom of that. I am not sure what this all means.
Sinus tachycardia is pretty common in young age and it is not the disease state, if you go on reading the pule on your own it will always give higher rate because of over consciousness, in absence of any symptoms no need to read the pulse else it may cause the panic, just a high rate of heart beat self-measured in absence of any disease is nothing to take anything with health.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Akhtar Husain
