I have a perfectly healthy 6 year old son. Three prior miscarriages - only 2 were tested and both were trisomy 13. I m now pregnant at 43. At 10 weeks the heart rate was 170. Seems that the baby may be measuring a few days bigger than what would be expected given the date of my last period. CVS is scheduled for next week. I m stressed. Does anything sound like there s a problem? Is is possible to have a healthy baby after our problems? Thanks!
Hello, Though you have had abnormal pregnancies earlier, the fact that you also have a healthy child subsequently, favors good prognosis. Yet, your age is something to be worried about. The fetal heart rate, at this stage of pregnancy is not always of much importance, but the rhythm is. Of course, it is higher than the average observed at this stage. Please do not stress as you have equally good chances of having a healthy child this time also. Wait for the scans to be done and follow your doctor's suggestions. Hope this helps.
