What Causes High Pus Cell Count In Sperm Analysis?
Hi , i have done sperm analysis today .Sperm count was 80mil/ml,Motility was 70% but pus cells was 15-20%.Earlier also i had pus cells count more so went through antibiotic treatment .Could you tell me what are the reasons of recurrence of so high pus cells ?
Your semen analysis report suggests persistent infection. It may be due to inappropriate or unresponsive antibiotics. Normally there shouldn't be any pus cells in semen. At this stage you need culture and sensitivity of semen so that proper antibiotics can be prescribed. Now a days, microbes are resistant to many antibiotics so culture and sensitivity is needed. Infection may be due to prostatitis,UTI etc. You need few more investigation like routine hemogram,RBS,Ultrasound of pelvis should be done.Trans rectal sonography of prostate can be done if needed. Proper antibiotics should be prescribed after culture and sensitivity report.
Get well soon. Hope I have answered your question.
