What Causes Higher HCG Levels Post Menopause ?

I am going through perimenopause at 47 years old. My last menstrual period lasted 10 days and ended about 9 days ago. Previous to that, my last menstrual period was in February. I practice abstinence. I get my blood checked every month due to Pulmonary Hypertension Medication I take, and now have had 2 times when my HCG levels were slightly elevated, 6.26, but not consecutively. Can going through menopause ( I also have many other menopause s/s such as hot flashes, irritability, hear palp. etc) going on for a year or so), cause the HCG to be elevated slightly?
