My 89 year-old husband has heart congestion, before and after, a cardio-thoracic 12 - hour surgery (12/12) by Dr. Gregory Dehmer at Scott-White Hospital,Temple, Texas. He has made a slow but pretty good recovery in spite of his many health issues. Right now the primary health issue is a heavy rash that could be identified as Hives, the little red bumps on his chest, neck, arms and legs turn into whelps and glow red hot at night and early in the morning. We have been trying to relieve the terrible itching by spraying those areas with Walgreens spray bottle of Burn Relief. It is just barely keeping him from clawing through the skin. I first identified the rash as poison oak, poison Ivy or poison Summac. since he is spending much of his time in the back forty, and just resting on the porch. The docs here laugh at my diagnosis, but really I am pretty sharp on just figuring out the pfoblem The latest wise guess from the docs is that it might be hives, but from what resource? He s taking two Claritins in a 24-hour period; he has been injected three times with steroids, ha has taken one round of Prednisone. Can you give me any ideas on what it really might be, because I know we wont be able to successfully help the condition until we do. Phyllis R. Moses
