my aunt has hypothyroid, her T3 and T4 are normal...but TSH is too low...shes on thyronorm 100mcg..what could be the reason??why is her TSH too low??do v need to adjust the dose??or is 100mcg ok for her???her age is 47..and her wieght is 72...she is literaly putting on weight too since 3 or 4months...so pls help me:)
If your aunt is getting treated for primary hypothyroidism and TSH is below normal, she is on an over dose of thyroxine medications. I would suggest her to consult a doctor who will decrease her thyroxine dose to probably 75 mcg per day and follow up her after 2 -3 months.
The weight gain may not be related to thyroid as she is already over treated. Please check her blood glucose, cholesterol etc
Hope I have answered your query. If you have any further questions I will be happy to help
