What Causes Increased Sleep Along With Elevated BP And Pulse Rate?

My husband is 51 he takes 2 blood pressure med s he has been sleeping a lot and still having high blood pressure and his pulse as high as 156. He is going to dr today. Should we insist on seeing a cardiologist? Also he has had a couple of spells where he acts like he has been drinking when he is totally sober.

hi
it is better to take him to the cardiologist or your treating physician as early as possible.

heart rate of that count is not a goog sign as it can increase the myocardial oxygen demand, affecting the bloood supply to the heart.

the rythm should also be considered in hias case to rule out for any cardiac problem associated with atrial fibrillations or any other ectopics.

these spells can be dizzziness due to the altered bloodsupply to the brain as well as the heart.

he requires an urgent cardiac evaluation.
all the best
take care
