What Causes Intense Lower Back Pain After A Colonoscopy?

Is it possible for a colonoscopy to cause a herniated disk? The pain goes from my lower back all down my leg and I cannot do anything besides lay flat on my back. Today my doctor told me the herniated disk is torn and ruptured! This all started the day after having a colonoscopy. Before that I was fine.

Hi,

What a coincidence! Colonoscopy has to do nothing with your back, it just happens that they came together.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Salah Saad Shoman, Internal Medicine Specialist
