What Causes Intense Pain And Bruise In Knee Caused After Injury?

Yes, I slipped down a hill this morning and have had increased pain thought out the day. The inside of my knee feels like a bad bruise to the touch but there is no bruising. Also I have pain shooting up my leg towards the hip (worst when I touch the inside of my knee) in addition I can barely bent my knee without sharp pains. I presently have it elevated and applying heat. Any other suggestions. Note: I am 53 but very active. Never had any thing like this before

For intense pain and bruise in knee you can take some antibiotic like ampoxin or droxyl after an expert opinion along with combiflam or ibugesic-plus for pain and swelling. Do hot water fomentation over knee to reduce the pain and inflammation. Don't worry much you will be fine within few days.
