Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I HAVE INTENSE PAIN IN MY RIGHT ARM BY THE SHOULDER AND CANNOT LIFT ARM ABOVE MY HEAD IT HURTS ALL THE TIME IS WORSE WHEN MOVED SUDDENLY OR CARRYING THINGS WITH ARM WHEN THIS HAPPENS IT FEELS AS THOUGH SOMEONE RIPPED MY ARM OFF MY BODY WHAT COULD THIS BE
I am sorry for the intense pain you are feeling in your right arm by the shoulder till you cannot lift arm above your head. Most probably that is due to any muscle injury (strain/sprain). Rotator cuff injury or tendinitis should also consider.
I advise to get an X-ray of the shoulder joint, and consult further with orthopedic specialist to determine the right diagnosis. For the moment, I can only suggest to:
- take oral pain killers that you find over the counter
- apply analgesic cream locally
- massage with essential oil locally
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Albana Sejdini,
