What Causes Intermittent Cough While Having Sore Throat?
I ve had a cough off and on for 8 weeks. It gets worst each time it comes back. I cough all day and evening but not during the night when I lay down. I have a sore throat and the back of my tongue is sore. I m tired all the time but I m sleeping well at night.
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of intermittent cough while having sore throat which could be due to chest infection/ upper respiratory tract infection and it could be due to throat infection as well. It seems your immunity is getting impaired. Need not to worry. Avoid intake of cold carbonated beverages. I would suggest you to visit general physician once and get it examined by X-ray chest and start treatment after proper examination. If bronchitis is ruled out then you should go for ENT specialist and it could be due to strep throat , go for swab and sputum test. Start treatment after proper diagnosis is made out. Till then take proper course of antibiotics to you. Take steam inhalation.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
Get Well soon.
Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
