What Causes Intermittent Pain In Upper Left Arm And Shoulder?

I am having intermittent pain in upper left arm and shoulder. Not every day. It lasts 30-60 seconds. Sometimes twice a day. Sometimes not at all. The pain is moderate. It s like something is squeezing inside shoulder. This started about two months ago.
