What Causes Intermittent Vaginal Bleeding Along With Pelvic Pain?

I am a 43 year female that have a lot of auto immune diseases however my question is this I recently had an endometrio ablation about 2 years ago and I recently started having abnormal bleeding not all the time but sometime the blood is bright red not the type you would have when you would menstruate, any way this comes with pelvic pain, also before this occurred I started losing weight I had a heart attack in july and i weighed at that time 166 pounds at this time I now weigh 140 I have no appetite and now for the last 5 days I have been suffering from an upset stomach with dizziness and heart burn and funny taste in mouth along extreme fatigue which is very unusual I am very familiar with my body however this just does not feel right at all. Every time I go to the doctors or the Er they blame it on my auto immune diseases though I know this is not related at all. Someone please help. Oh by the way I went to the gyn they did a sonogram on my ovaries and she said I had fibrods and the sono lady notice some blood and fluid around the right ovary and asked did I have a bowel movement I said no but the gyn said nothing about it she just said that my uterus prolapse and scheduled me for a hysterectomy. Confused

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

* The intermittent vaginal bleed with pelvic pain indicates long term inflammatory condition as adenomyosis most likely from hormone imbalance issue.

However, additional possibilities of

- pelvic inflammatory condition
- cervicitis
- ovarian tumors secreting estrogen
- endometriosis
- hypothalamus problems
- excess smoking or alcohol consumption

- thyroid disorders

Have to be ruled out with thorough history and physical examination. In my clinic, I do recommend an ultrasound of the abdomen and pelvis as primary measure and decide further course of action.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel
