What Causes Irregular And Dark Vaginal Bleeding After Having An Abortion?
2 months ago I had to have an abortion. Since then I've been bleeding on and off lightly and when I'm not bleeding I'm having dark gooey discharge and often watery discharge. I've almost yet to have my actual period. Is this normal? When may it stop? And when may I get my period?
Hi, Thanks for posting in HCM. Bleeding or discharge could continue on and off for about 6 to 8 weeks after you undergo abortion by taking pills. Hence, you need not worry about the problems you are facing. Your periods should regularize shortly. In case it doesn't, you need to check your hormone levels in blood of FSH, LH and Prolactin. Also you may need an ultrasound scan of pelvis to look for any retained products of conception. Kindly consult Gynecologist for opinion after getting the investigations in this regard for appropriate management. Hope the information provided would be helpful. All the best.
