Hello my name is Sam I am 23 years old I have been on birth control pills for about 2 years now (after the birth of my daughter) recently we decided to start trying to have another baby so I finished my pack of pills I was on and then didn t take any more after a few weeks I stated thinking and realized I m not ready for another baby so my period (I think it was my period it was very light) came exactly when it was due saturday June 11th and I started a new pack of pills sunday June 12th and today is June 18th and I am still bleeding is this normal? When will it go away, it is still pretty light it goes from dark red to bright red to brownish blood but remains lighter then my normal period? I have been back on birth control pills for 7 days now and was off of them for exactly 1 month.
Hello, Going on and off the pills can cause some hormonal changes that result in irregular bleeding. I suggest that you take a pregnancy test and if you are not pregnant then don't worry. Your periods should straighten out in the next 1-3 months if you take the pills regularly. If not see your doctor Regards
