What Causes Irregular Vaginal Bleeding Inspite Of Taking Ipill After Having Unsafe Sex?

My girlfriend took an ipill 3 hours after we had unprotected intercourse. I did not ejaculate inside her and we did this on the fourth day of her period. On the fifth day she had normal bleeding but it stopped on the sixth day. Now a week later the bleeding has started again. Is this a problem?

hi there
thankyou for choosing HCM
as regards to bleeding which has reoccurred after taking an ipill, you need to know that it is a common side effect of ipill. most of the hormonal contraceptives have these side effects including nausea and vomiting, weight gain, breast tenderness and irregular bleeding between the cycles. so you do not need to worry about it, it will get back to normal in next few weeks.

kind regards
dr Fouzia
