My name is leena from india , age 26 yrs , married for almost 2yrs. 7 months before I was found to have PCOS by an pelvic ultrasound. At the time of diagnosis I did not have any irregular menses. I heard from my friends that it is very common among all childbearing age women so I went by myself to get an ultrasound. Since then I taking metformin tabs 500mg three times daily upon doctor’s prescription. After that couldn’t follow up with that doctor . my menses occurs almost after every 30 days lasting for 5 days. Sometimes it might come 1 day earlier or 1 day late. This month ( march ) we decided for a baby so we planned things according to online ovulation calendar to know my fertile period. My LMP was 23rd feb 2011 lasting for 3 days. By I would like to mention that my menses came 3 days earlier. We did according to my LMP. And this month I missed my periods which should have atleast occurred by 25th march 2011. So I took a qualitative pregnancy blood test on 28th march and it turned out to be negative. They said it might be early for result to be positive so they asked me to come 1 week after to test again. So now im worried whether its pregnancy or that I have missed my period. Is it possible to have missed periods or irregularity in cycles when you are taking metformin tablets ? another thing I was under stress thinking whether I would be pregnant or not . so would my stress be a reason for my irregularity. So please tell me the best possible way to treat PCOS ? does weight reduction actually help in PCOS ?
My weight is 82 kg
My height is 165 cms
