What Causes Irritation And Redness In Eyes When Suffering From Kawaski Disease?
Hi my 4 year old daughter started to have irritation in her eye, a bit redness, and she refuses to look at any light. She was recently diagnosed with Kawaski's Disease but was treated with IVIG. The treatment worked and she was fine. Two days later she started the irritation of the eyes and she refuses to open them when looking at any kind of light. As of now she is taking aspirin. She saw her pediatrician and he suggested that I give her eye drops and to buy her some sunglasses. He claims it might have been because of the swelling she had in the eyes due to Kawaski's Disease. But it has been 4 days and it still has not gotten better even with the drops and sunglasses. Should I wait? Or should i take her back to her pediatrician????
Hi Welcome to healthcaremagic In Kawasaki disease basic pathology is inflammation of mod sized arteries due to auotantibodies. It takes some time to recover.Normally 6-12 weeks. So eye redness too takes time to disappear.Normally 1 week after starting IVIG.So you can wait for a couple of days.If getting worse then consult an ophthalmologist as it could then be something else Happy to help you Best regards
