What Causes Irritation In Throat While Breathing Despite Having Acid Reflux?
When I breathe my throat feels irritated and I cough. I often have acid reflux and am wondering if damage to my esophagus would cause this sensation. Plus, is it possible to have chronic acid reflux and not realize it? My throat often has a burning feeling, even if I don t recall waking up due to acid reflux during the night?
Hi, welcome to HCM. As you guess you are definitely suffering from acid reflux which in medical terms is also called as reflux oesophagitis. It is a treatable and preventable disease. Try not to over eat and not to lie down immidietly after consuming foods. Eat frequent meals in small portions. Avoid spicy food, alcohol and smoking. You need to take a course of antacids such as gelucil , nexpro , razo etc. Consult a physician or gastroenterologist for proper treatment. If symptoms persist then you may have to undergo endoscopy . Pl. take timely treatment and avoid further complications. Take care.
