What Causes Itchiness, Bloating, Abdominal Pain After Taking Morning After Pill, Levonelle?

I have taken the morning after pill, levonelle, last Friday roughly 24 hours after sex with my long-term boyfriend. The common side effect I experienced were slight bloating and abdominal pain. I also felt quite itchy about 5 hours after taking the pill and have since developed a generalised rash, which is still spreading. Is this normal and if so, how long will it last? It is uncomfortable. Thanks. Sasha

Hi

Allergy can occur with any drug use.You need to take an antihistamine or a steroid to reduce the symptoms of allergy.

You will have to switch to another contraceptive pill next time to avoid any future hypersensitivity.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards
