What Causes Itching All Over The Body While Suffering From High Fever?
3 days back I got down with heavy fever & severe body ache specially at the joints. Paid a visit to the doctor. Now after 3 days fever is normal but itching is there all over my body. My questions are whether it is normal to have itching after a viral fever and secondly suggest some remedy because it gave me a sleepless night yesterday.
Itching, with or without a rash, can occur with viral illness. This is known as viral exanthem.
It usually resolves with or within a week of the other symptoms improving.
You can consider using an anti histamine to help with the itching eg benadryl, claritine, zyrtec, allegra. Since you have difficulty sleeping because of the itching, benadryl may be the best option since the others are non drowsy and would not help you get to sleep.
I hope this helps
