What Causes Itching Around The Sinus Surgery Site?

I had sinus surgery two weeks ago. Severe itching since, which M.D. is certain is anesthesia related. Tried Benedryl, then steroids, now Dextamethesone(?), which helps a little but not enough and makes me feel drunk. How long can I expect this to last?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

It could be a local reaction or dermatitis.

As a first line management, you can apply low potency steroid creams like betamethasone for symptomatic relief. If the lesion persists, it is better to consult a dermatologist and get evaluated.

You can also take drugs like Pheniramine for itching.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain,
