What Causes Itching In The Soles & Palms?

I am a diabetic, I recently fell ill with normal flu(fever and bodyache) so i stopped my diabetic medicines and had the flu medicines. After i 3 day course and the fever low, the headache continued. Today morning I resumed my diabetic medicines. i also took an aspirin for the headache. However sudeenly my soles started itching and towards evening my palms started itching. Now both are itching and paining. Please advise why this is happening and what should I do? Thanks and regards.

Hello there,
I can understand your concern. First of all do not stop your diabetic medicines when you are ill but rather increase checking of sugars. Only if you eat less you should reduce your doses to half. On checking sugars if it is less than 70 then you can skip that particular dose and take some sweet or sugar water. The itching you are experiencing could be an allergy to aspirin, if you are taking it for the first time or after a long gap. Did you ever get such itching with any other medication before? If there is a rash or itching and pain is severe then you need to visit a physician who can examine you and suggest necessary antiallerigc medication. Till then try to apply some moisturiser/Lactocalamine to the palms and soles. It may reduce your symptoms.
Hope this helps.
Take care.
