What Causes Itching On The Nose, Arm And Leg After Taking Melatonin?
I just took a dose of liquid melatonin 2.5 and almost immediately started itching. First my nose and now a little with arm and a leg. Is this just a allergic reaction? I had something similar happen few months ago when prescribed hydrocodone for knee surgery. Needed to take benadryl or itches a lot.
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have stching in nose, arm and leg after taking Melatonin. Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query like contact dermatitis , eczema or psoriasis . But in your case it seems to me that the symptoms are probably due to side effects of melatonin . I would suggest you to consult doctor who prescribed you melatonin . Doctor may alter the dose or may prescribe alternative . Doctor may also refer you to dermatologist for above mention problem . For now apply cold compresses on itching site and take over the counter anti histamine like benadryl .
Hope your concern has been resolved.
Get Well Soon.
Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
