What Causes Itching Sensation All Over Body Along With Bruise On Hip And Lower Back?

My whole body has been itching for several weeks, but I have no rash or redness. I do have horrible pin dot type bruises from scratching over my hip and lower back area, But only that area. The bruises showed up almost immediatly. What could be causing this?

Hello and welcome to HCM,
Itching all over the body can occur due to local skin conditions like dermatitis and eczema; elevated bile salts; skin infestation with scabies etc.
Absence of any rash or redness rules out local skin conditions like dermatitis or eczema.
Elevated bile salts is one of the possibility and it can occur due to liver disease.
In addition, there are number of drugs which can lead to increased level of bile salts and thus itching.
Development of pin dot sized bruises after scratching suggest bleeding from small blood vessels after trivial trauma.
Pin dot bleeding spots occurs due to low platelets and platelet count count should be determined.
In addition, coagulation pathway should also be tested with investigations - prothrombin time and activated partial thromboplastin time.
In case platelet count is low, the cause of low platelets should be determined and thus the condition should be treated.
