What Causes Itching Sensation And Pain In Ear Inspite Of Using Hydrogen Peroxide?

Two days ago my ear was itching like crazy. I put a few ear drops in my ear and it stopped the itching but the next day my ear felt really full and popped every time I swallowed. Today it still hasn t improved any and I can t hear very well out of that ear, and having a few twinges of pain. Also when I tilt my head it feels like water is sloshing around in my ear. I put a couple drops of hydrogen peroxide in but it did nothing. Could the ear drops be stuck in my ear?

Hello,

You should not put hydrogen peroxide to ear as it will cause corrosion of delicate mucus membrane of ear canal. Possible causes like fungal infection of the ear must be ruled out.

Consult an ENT specialist and get evaluated. A scrape biopsy is required to confirm the diagnosis.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain
