Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Itchy Bite Mark On Arm After Being In Contact With An Infected Person?
Hi, I was researching shingles as I was in contact with someone who had them about a week ago and just noticed that what I thought was bite on my arm has not turned into a blistery scab. It itched mildly a day or so. Then I awoke yesterday with what I thought might be a bite to my eye. The eyelid swelled, but it is not itchy. No other spots.
If you have bite mark and also have eye swelling at the same time, then it may b some insect bite. As there is history of itching and no history of pain mentioned so shingles is ruled out. As in shingles there is sever pain at that area and also there is no itching in shingles. You can take any antihistamines at bed time and it will be subside.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Shahid Akbar, General & Family Physician
