I am 40 years old, weigh 135 pounds and am 5'4" tall. I have been dealing with sores on my back, chest, face, head and upper legs for the past 2 years. They just won't heal. My doctor has given me (twice) antibiotics and steroid creams, but they didn't even phase them. My blood work comes back normal. They're not infected, but I doctor them several times daily to keep them from getting that way. They sometimes itch so bad that I claw them until they bleed. Benadryl and prescription meds didn't phase the itching. I was recently put on Flagyl & Cipro for a vaginal bacterial infection for 2 weeks. They almost completely healed during that time but came back as soon as the antibiotics were stopped. I recently acquired a parrot and had her tested for feather plucking. Her lab results came back with Unidentified Pasteurellaceae, Corynebacterium sp., Staphylococcus sp. (Coagulase Negative), and Negative Culture Salmonella. I was told that I couldn't get anything from her, but I'm wondering if it would it be possible that I might have given her something. Could I have a skin infection caused from Corynebacterium sp., and if so, how would I go about finding out? My doctors have been giving me the run around for 2 years now, and I'm tired of suffering with all this. I'm getting all scarred up, and as a lady, I would rather not have scars all over. What can you tell me about this bacteria and the so called skin infections that I've briefly seen mentioned?
