What Causes Jock Itch Along With Rashes On Eye Lids Causing Swelling?

Hi, I am a 20 year old female. About a week ago, I developed jock itch on my inner thighs. I then developed a rash that was on my eyelids and underneath my eyes. Eventually, this spread to the crease of my elbow and then to my left cheek down onto my collarbone. Honestly, I did rub my eyes a little as they were itchy. I woke up this morning and my eyes were almost swollen shut and the rash on my face was swollen as well. What could be happening and what can I do to stop it?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello and welcome.

I would first recommend a visit to your dermatologist as only a physical examination can accurately diagnose the cause for your symptoms. Along with that a blood investigation including tests like eosinophils, ANA, RA factor, CRP, ESR, etc; should be conducted.

For now, I think it could either be a hypersensitivity reaction or due to some systemic condition or photo sensitivity caused by some underlying condition. Please do consider visiting your doctor.

Best wishes
