What Causes Lateral Foot Pain Along With Swelling?

Having sudden onset right lateral foot pain at the base of the 5th digit. Ongoing since last week getting worse. I walk every evening and is almost impossible to do (but I do). No acute injury. Very slight swelling noted. Cannot go barefoot (didn t anyway), but just walking across floor to get shoes very painful. Yup Type II DM, but well managed throbbing pain.

Hello,

Right lateral foot pain associated with pain can be due to fascitis. Fascitis is inflammation of fascia. I suggest you to consult your physician for clinical assessment and thus management.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
