General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Pain in the chest the is worse with breathing and painful to touch is very likely to be a sore muscle. So you should not worry at all. He can use some heat application massage along with painkiller like Ibuprofen.

However, if the pain is for long times, or he has any difficulty in breathing or shortness of breath then he should urgently go to Dr for X-ray and heart tape but It is least likely.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
