What Causes Left-sided Pain In Arm, Shoulder And Neck Area?

Hi I was a front seat passenger during a road traffic collision last Saturday, I experienced pain in my left arm, shoulder and neck area, I was seen at hospital who said I had soft tissue damage I wasn t x-rated. As the week has gone on, I m experiencing pain in my collarbone by my neck and my neck, I can move my arm ok as long as I don t lift anything heavy, and my collar bone seems to be randomly popping where I can feel the pain. I m not sure whether I should return and ask for an x-Ray. I don t want to waste anyone s time

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,
I understand your concern.
It's already one week past the road collision, You have pain in shoulder/ neck/ collar bone-with popping voice in between. It is suggestive of boney injury with possibility of fracture of clavicle ( collar bone).
You get Xrayed the earliest & have consultation of orthopedic doctor for specific treatment.
Till then, you should not move your shoulder / avoid weight lifting. anti inflammatory pill available on counter can be taken twice a day after food.
Thanks.
