What Causes Left-sided Tingling Sensation On The Face After Drinking Alcohol?

I have a tingling sensation on the left side of my face after drinking some alcohol. I had a couple of shots on a full stomach. Still got a buzz and it faded. After sobering up after a couple of hours I have a tingling sensation in on my left cheek bone and it wraps around to above my eye. It s the first time I have experienced this and its been several months since I have had any hard liquor. Is this normal?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

I read carefully your query and understand your concern.

Alcohol can be toxic to nerve tissue.
Patients who drink too much may start to feel pain and tingling in their limbs.
Paresthesia can cause numbness, itching, and a feeling of pins and needles on your skin.
I suggest using an anti inflammatory medication such as Acetaminophen to relieve the symptoms.
I also suggest to avoid alcohol and drink a lot of liquids.

Hope my answer was helpful.

If you have further queries feel free to contact me again.

Kind regards!
