Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I had sex for the first time about a month ago. I am on birth control, actually the one where I m only suppose to get my period every three months. I got my period when I would have normally(if I wasn t on these pills) in the second month of pills. I have had my period (pretty lightly) for over three weeks now. It seems to be stopping and I ll think I m good, and then it s there again. I ve taken tests, I m not pregnant. And I have stayed my the pill consistently. I don t know why I ve had it so long. I have had longer periods in the past but nothing like this. I am on the week three of the last pack of pills, so even if my period finally does stop it is likely to come back in about two weeks. Is there anything I can do?
I recommend you to stop the birth control pills. Your hormones cycle should be normalized because it is disoriented. It you have a young age better to use condoms than pill controls.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
