What Causes Light Headedness After Taking Lisinopril?

I am taking Lisinopril 20 mg 1 per day and Amlodipine Besylate 5mg am 71 years old and work out 3-5 days a week with a trainer----on three occasions I have gotten light headed and almost passed out. When I work out my blood pressure drops from 155-165 by 40 points. Am a potentially over medicated.

Hi,

Thank you for your question. Yes light handedness is one of the side affects of the drug as it happens in most of the drugs. The mechanism of this side effects not well known but it cross blood brain barrier. If the symptoms continue can reduce the dosage or stop the drug.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Mutuma Geoffrey Zambezi
