What Causes Light Headedness And Blurred Vision In A Hypertensive Person?

male, age 67. I take 1 mg of doxazosin daily for high blood pressure. Saturday I experienced lightheadedness and some blurry vision for awhile and then today again after about an hour after lunch...today was worse in that I could not walk without staggering. I seem to be better now after vomiting and taking a short nap. any ideas??

Hi,

Uncontrolled hypertension can very well cause lightheadedness and blurred vision which is a hypertensive emergency and needs immediate medical care. Fast acting drugs will then be used to lower your blood pressure. You need to immediately visit your doctor to determine the cause and to provide you with prompt medical care.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
