This month I didn t have a period at all but I had very bad stomach bug during the time I was supposed to menstruate. Can prolonged use of the pill cause periods to stop completely. General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

* Long period of Diane consumption can alter the hypothalamus and pituitary pathway hormones to alter the menses to some extent in certain individuals.

* In my clinic, I recommend stoppage of the consumption of the same and wait for a period of 3-4 months to look for the menses returning and if necessary a work up with hormone profile of estrogen, LH and FSH is recommended.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
