What Causes Lightheadedness While Bending Down To Work?

I have two things that Im wondering may be causing my symptoms. I have a leaky mitral valve from rheumatic fever as a kid and also, lumbar spine arthritis. the last few days, when I move fast or bend over to do things like tie my son s shoes, I get light headed. Anything to be concerned about?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

It is normal to feel lightheaded if you quickly stand up. Make sure you drink well and rest well and also try to avoid quick movements. If you notice your symptoms persist for more than 4-5 days or you feel you are any worse you will need to see your doctor.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Antoneta Zotaj, General & Family Physician
