Hello,
Numbness or loss of sensation can be due to low
estrogen levels causing the tissues of the vulva and vagina to become thinner, drier, and less elastic. To improve estrogen level you can take sesame and flax seeds, dried fruits, garlic, peaches, berries, etc. Your treating doctor may suggest HRT. Loss of sensation in intercourse can be due to use of sex toys that are set on stronger & higher
vibration mode for greater satisfaction. It can be temporary, stop using sex toys.
It can be due to cut or injury in the genital area due to shaving, douching, friction, etc. Stop shaving, masturbating or douching for a couple of days. Let the nerves regenerate and blood flow improve. Stay away from
depression, anxiety, relationship or emotional problems they may trigger your symptoms. Use vaginal lubricants during intercourse. Painful intercourse is commonly due to ovarian cysts,
vaginitis,
endometriosis, PID, sexual phobia or previous traumatic or painful experience.
You are suggested to get clinically examined by a gynecologist, get required blood,
urinalysis & imaging tests done to detect the pathology causing you discomfort. You will be treated accordingly. Take home made nutritious food rich in iron, calcium and protein to prevent anemia. Take enough fruits, berries and well cooked whole cereals. Do regular exercises to maintain healthy weight.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Nupur K., General & Family Physician
