Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have not been feeling great for a year now. I have a swollen lymph node in my neck removed last December. The biospy came back fine. I ache all over, and I have for the last 2 month (like an am about to get the flu). My primary dr did an ANA test that came back positive, so she sent me to a rheumatologist. He did a more detailed ANA test that came back negative. I have had 7 CBC blood tests in the last year. 4 out of the 7 reported a high WBC. The 3 that were not out of range came back at the high end of normal. I have had 4 CRP tests. All came back high. I have lost 15 lbs over the last 6 months without trying.
Thank you for asking! High CRP and leukocytes indicate underlying chronic inflammation and needs to be worked up for. must be some systemic one as ANA got positive for that. Losing weight makes it more significant. I suggest get in touch with rheumatologist and let them sort out the cause here. I suggest start from the lymph node troubles causatives like tuberculosis, lymphadenopathies etc, and follow it by the leads from work up. take care
