What Causes Low Iga, Igm And Igg Levels During Remission From Ovarian Cancer?
Hello, I am in remission from ovarian cancer(4th year). I just passed some blood tests, etc and I was asked to consult the oncologist because my Iga, Igm and Igg are under the normal level. The waiting list is from 18 to 24 months so I would really like to know if this is a serious matter. All I know of the terms is that it has to do with my immune system. So being in remission, I am of course worried and need to know what the problem is.
Thanks for your question on Health Care Magic. I can understand your situation and problem. Yes, you are right. IgG, IgM and IgA are immunoglobulins of the body and help in hormonal immunity. Cancer patients are known to have low immunity. And this is even decreased due to chemotherapy. So these patients are at increased risk of opportunistic infections. Your lower immunoglobulins level suggest that you are at increased risk of such infections. And hence you need drugs to improve your immunoglobulin levels. This is the reason why you are asked to consult oncologist. Hope I have solved your query. I will be happy to help you further. Wish you good health. Thanks.
