What Causes Low Blood Pressure After Taking Bactrim?

I began taking Bactrim 3 days ago for skin eruptions on legs. since then my blood pressure has decreased and my pulse rate almost doubled. Since the BP is lower, i m not taking Benezapril and Amlodapine as i m afraid it will lower BP further. Avg. BP has been 107/60 and pulse rate of about 100 without taking any BP meds. I also take tamulosin for urine flow problems. I m 85 yrs old and still pretty mobile. Can t reach my Dr. and wonder if I should stop the Bactrim til I can speak with him. It seems to be working

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

"As" per your clinical history is concerned do take [Bactrim] and finish it's course as per your Doctor's advice and it has no side effects to decrease your blood pressure as it is an antibiotic,so discuss with your treating Doctor to adjust blood pressure medication and medication for urine flow [Tamulosin].

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
