Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My blood pressure has been lowered substantially during the past week that I have been on Metopropol and Lisinopril. After two stents were put in on December 28, 2017 my blood pressure returned a reasonable level of around 125-130 over 80-90. I was on Lipitor 80 mg and Brilenta and 81 mg aspirin. However last Wednesday my blood pressure was fairly high at 180/100. EKG was normal. so the Brilenta was discontinued and Metoprolol extended release 25 mg (1/2 taken daily), Lisinopril 2.5 mg, and Clopiudogrel 75 mg was added. My blood pressure is now fairly low at 96-105 over 55-60. My pulse has really dropped and was 48 this morning-before taking any medication for the day. If it is the pulse is this low tomorrow (over below 55-60) I have been advised to discontinue the metoprolol to see what effect this has. Your thoughts. Thank you for your time.

What Causes Low Blood Pressure And Pulse Levels?
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice. Metoprolol is a beta blocker, which decrease the heart rate so that would be appropriate and as you are also on other BP lowering agents. Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
