What Causes Low Grade Fever Along With Swollen Lymph Nodes And Fatigue?

My mother has been running a low grade fever, which seems to spike up to very high fevers when not taking the prescribed antibiotics. She also has bumps under her armpits, which were originally thought to be associated with a past (recent) case of MERSA, but are now possibly just swollen lymph nodes. In addition, she is experiencing extreme fatigue. Any suggestions?
