What Causes Low Grade Fever And Night Sweats?
I am a 64 year old female. 2 years ago I was diagnosed with Sjogren s Syndrome based on both blood tests coming back positive. 6 months ago my tests showed no Sjogren s although the symptoms continue. Last week my primary ordered all new blood tests since I have been running a very low grade fever with night sweats for a month now. All of tests are not in yet but I was able to get one of them from my patient portal at the lab. The EBV panel came back positive showing a recent EBV infection. I know that normally means mono but seems odd at my age and that I have no sore throat nor any enlarged lymph nodes. So I am concerned that it might be lymphoma especially because of the night sweats and the Sjogren s connection. Should I be concerned?

Hello,
The doctor should do monospot test to differentiate mono from lymphoma. You also should test the thyroid function doing T3, T4 and TSH levels. Hyperthyroidism may also be an option.
