What Causes Low Grade Fever With Body Chills And Abdominal Pain In Pregnancy?
Hi I'm 39 weeks pregnant with a low fever 100.5 that I have been keeping low with tylenol. It has been a little over 24 hours. I have had bad night sweats and chills. Now I am having a little abdominal pain and a little blood in my urine. Should I go to the hospital?
I absolutely recommend you go to the hospital and be evaluated. There is a high likelihood you may have a kidney infection based on your symptoms, and you need IV antibiotics in the hospital to treat it. The blood in your urine makes me suspicious that this is coming from your urinary tract. An untreated kidney infection can spread bacteria into the bloodstream of the mother and cause you to get very sick and put the baby at risk for infection.
So please go to the hospital immediately for evaluation if you have not done so already!!! You may just be sick with something else but at this time in late pregnancy it is best to be cautious.
I hope I have answered your question, and i hope you feel better.
Best of luck with your pregnancy,
Dr. Brown
