What Causes Low Platelet Count With Rashes On Body And High Fever?

I was in the hospital last weekend for an unknown illness (rash from head to toe, 102 fever, swollen from head to toe and no cold symptoms). My platelet count on Sat was 120 and it was rechecked in Sun and it was 100, but they discharged me in Sunday. Is that right?

Hello and welcome to HCM,
Rashes all over the body associated with fever is suggestive of viral fever.
Viral fever cause a fall in platelet count.
The treatment for most of the viral infections is symptomatic and supportive.
The platelet counts improve as the viral infection recovers.
Thus, treatment for viral fever will help in recovery of low platelets.
