What Causes Lower Abdominal Pain, bloating And Frequent Urination?

I am a woman in my 30's that just got off of birth control about a month ago. I have taken 2 pregnancy tests and they both came back negative. For the last week I have been afflicted with constant urination, pelvic/lower abdominal pain, bloating/swelling, and nausea. What could be causing this is I am not pregnant?

Hi ! Good afternoon. I am Dr Shareef answering your query.

From history, it seems like you have got a UTI (urinary tract infection), if pregnancy could be excluded with certainty by the way of serum HCG estimation and an ultrasound abdomen if need be. I would advise you to go for a routine/microscopic and a culture sensitivity of the urine, and show it to your family physician for further management with appropriate antibiotics after a physical examination of your abdomen. Till then you could go for an anti emetic, and a proton pump inhibitor drug for a symptomatic relief.

I hope this information would help you in discussing with your family physician/treating doctor in further management of your problem. Please do not hesitate to ask in case of any further doubts.

Thanks for choosing health care magic to clear doubts on your health problems. Wishing you an early recovery. Dr Shareef.
