What Causes Lower Back And Abdominal Pain After IUD?

I got an IUD 5 days ago and im still having lower back and lower abdominal pain. In waves it gets worse but usually its just very minor. It feels similar to menstral cramping. Should I call my Dr and have my IUD checked on? Could it be slipping out ?
